Throwback Thursday! - Metal Kirin Illustration

It's been 6 months since these shops have been featured! Let's see what they've been up to!

Up first, Metal Kirin Illustration run by Teal Newcomb!

What does a typical day look like for you?

I'm currently in between day jobs, so I'm able to spend most of my day on art creation and related activities. I don't have a set schedule of any kind, I just split my time between working on various art projects, and going for walks or bike rides so I don't go crazy sitting in my art studio all day. I like going to a local cafe for a cup of coffee a few times a week and working on sketches or a painting there, it's nice to get out of the house and socialize even a little.

How do you take your caffeine?

Black <3  Unless it's cheap, in which case I'll add some creamer and cry softly to myself.

What do you know now that you wish you knew 6 months ago?

Haha, lots of things. I wish I would have tried kickstarter sooner, for one. That site is great for getting new projects going, and I encourage other artists to try it out if they'd like to expand their business in a new direction or start a project.

How has your shop grown in the past 6 months?

I think the main thing has been the addition of pendant jewelry. I'm still new to jewelry making, but it's a lot of fun, I use reproductions and tiny originals in creating my jewelry, and painting such tiny little images is really satisfying :)

Where would you like to see your shop in the next 3 years?

Oh man, I don't have any really solid goals, I'd just like to have more steady customers, and a bigger, more impressive print portfolio. Of course I hope my artwork will continue to improve as the years go by.
