My Morning Routine


Today, I’m going to show you what my morning routine looks like so you can see how I balance staying healthy, working a day job and running a side business.

I wake up at 4am. I get ready to work out. I use Fitness Blender on my laptop in the living room to work out. I use dumbells. Monday, Wednesday, Friday are my leg days since my legs are stronger than my arms. Tuesday and Thursday are my arm days.

After working out. I make some tea. I use an electric kettle and really enjoy loose leaf tea. I make my tea before showering so it’s cool enough to drink after I get out. I usually listen to podcasts in the morning from when I’m stretching all the way to getting in the shower.

I go back to listening again while getting dressed. I don’t have a BlueTooth shower speaker and I don’t want to wake up my husband while blaring podcasts in the echo chamber of the shower.

I make my lunch and get ready to make breakfast before settling down to write.

I write before getting to the day job. Sometimes I’ll do other things too like edit videos or set up blog posts. Writing gets priority though because all of my content starts with it. I’ve shown in a previous video how I set up my writing for the week.

When it’s time to get to work, it’s pretty boring. I make breakfast, say good-bye to my husband, gather my things and head out the door. I listen to podcasts in the car and eat my breakfast on the way too. Using headphones in the car is perfectly legal in Michigan, don’t worry, I’ve checked.

I get to work and start my day job.
