Tell us about you - the creator!

I'm a mother of two awesome little boys. Both Mario fanatics. I started knitting as a hobby when my oldest son was still an infant. I wanted something to keep my mind busy, I found my niche, so to speak. I'm a huge nerd, I adore anything geeky. I spent 13 days of my life, pretty much not stop knitting between keeping up with etsy orders and my first Tom Baker scarf, it was finished in that time frame, and I'm not gonna lie I'm still upset I sold it, (and that was almost two months ago). My monsters fuel my creative fire. They love everything I do, even if its pink, they still steal it. I am constantly looking for new things to create, I get bored sometimes making the same things over and over again. Some of the best ideas for projects I have gotten have came from suggestions by other people.

Describe your shop and what you sell

Nrrd Knits is, in my mind, similiar to synthesis shop in FFIX. We take string, beads, stuffing, felt, glue guns, etc and make awesome stuff out of what appears to the uncrafty eye as arts and crafts time chaos. We have a wide variety of items and are currently trying to branch out in other areas as well. Dolls, scarves, beanies, wristbands, purses, dice bags, magnets, coasters, etc.

What is your favorite item to make? Why?

I don't have a favorite. All of my creations are as unique and screwed up sometimes as me. No two pieces ever turn out the same.

How and when did you start your business?

Something along the lines of Nrrd Knits had been talked about for a few years, before it actually happened in January 2013. I knit a couple of characters and two special pieces of equipment from a private server MORPG. I auctioned off a character doll and a backpack on the server's forums for in game money. Someone suggested that I start knitting things to sell for real money. Eventually, it became something I am working my fingers to the bone to make, hopefully, the next thinkgeek.

Anything else you would like to add?

If there is something you would like me to make specially for this, I am more than willing to. I just need an idea and a couple of days.
